WHO'S KIMBERLEY?
Hey, I am Kimberley Schuurbiers, 26 years and live in Rotterdam.. I am graduated since February 2016 on the Willem de Kooning Academy as Spatial Designer. My specializing is Service Design Thinking.
I am passionate, enthusiastic and a team player! Working together in a team gives me a boost of energy! It is always nice to work together with different disciplines, inspiring and learn from each you can come to beautiful and innovative results. After my studies I find it a challenge to see how projects are realized. I'm flexible, a structured worker and think in solutions. I consider myself a pusher and always want to achieve my goal. Furthermore, I am also eager to learn and always curious to learn new things I see the shifting role of designers and myself as Spatial Planner with specialization in Service Design. I am not only interested in my own field, but also in the themes that relate with and to our society and the rapid developments that are there instead. My fascination is about strengthening social cohesion between different generations in public areas. The mobile society and only eyes for the smartphone instead of having a conversation face-to-face frustrates me. Therefore it is my goal to design physical meeting spaces in public areas. In my designs I am the connecter as a designer between the spaces, object and/or furniture and the users. By assigning functions to my designs I make sure that the users are connected to each other again. To make the right connections I use my self developed methodologies of Service Design. The methodologies helps me to get to known what the question behind the question is in what the client is looking for but also to understand what it will mean for the users of the design assignment. The methodologies are used in an interactive way with the users, so the information is directly applicable and provides new insights into the issue. I like it to have contact with the client and the users I will make my design for. On my portfolio website you see my project during my studies and related projects. You can download my curriculum vitae to see my experiences in recent years. Any questions? Feel free to contact me! |
